Customer Service Representative


Farrel Corporation has a great opportunity for a Customer Service Representative in our Parts/Sales Department. The CSD Rep will be responsible for processing orders for machine parts or service received by customers and coordinating cost estimates to be used in the generation of sales quotes.

Primary Areas of Responsibility:

  • Prepares cost estimates for equipment and services for approval by management.
  • Reviews orders for price, part number specifications and commercial issues.
  • Informs customer of prices, shipping date, anticipated delays, and any additional relevant information.
  • Use of SAP system for orders, quotes, and checking lead time.
  • Checks with inventory control regarding stock availability where appropriate.
  • Manages and follows up on orders to ensure delivery by specified dates. Updates customer as necessary.
  • Computes price, discount, commission, and shipping charges, as required in quoting or entering an order.
  • Receives and processes customer complaints as necessary.
  • Communicates with production, sales, shipping, warehouse, or traffic to expedite or trace missing or delayed shipments.
  • Compiles statistics and prepares various reports for management as necessary.

Ideal Experience:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in Customer Service. 4-yr degree from a university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical drawings. Some experience in a manufacturing or technical environment

Field Service Technician


Farrel Pomini is looking for a Field Service Technician. The Field Service Technician provides professional service and support to customers by performing field service. This includes machine installation, startup, training end users, repairs, remote assistance, preventative maintenance and production support when not traveling.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Install new equipment at customer facility, ensuring all components and assemblies are properly integrated
  • Work from drawings, engineering data, assembly and operating instructions
  • Direct, instruct and advise customer personnel as to methods, schedules, safety practices or other matters affecting assembly, operation and servicing of equipment.
  • On site trouble shooting and repair
  • Prepare service reports documenting job duties performed
  • Identify and coordinate parts required for repair with customer service department
  • Travel to worldwide customer sites
  • Suggest and recommend corrective actions
  • Work in assembly shop to assist production when not traveling to client sites as required
  • Follow Standard safety regulations and maintain a clean work area
  • Present customer training seminars on equipment troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Perform other and related duties as assigned, directed or within the scope of overall responsibilities

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Advanced mechanical skills
  • Must have experience in handling heavy machinery, parts and components
  • Electrical Engineering experience is desirable
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics and machine specifications
  • Ability to creatively and independently troubleshoot and solve technical problems
  • Proficiency with PC, Microsoft Word, Excel
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and with others

This position involves substantial world-wide travel. Candidates must not have travel restrictions as the position requires travel on short notice. Due to the requirements of onsite visits to customer sites, this position also requires participation in random drug testing program.
